The Atlanta Braves placed right-handed reliever Robert Suarez on the 15-day injured list due to right forearm tightness. The move is retroactive to Tuesday.

In a corresponding move, the Braves recalled right-hander Hurston Waldrep from Triple-A Gwinnett. Veteran right-hander Carlos Carrasco elected to become a free agent.
Suarez, 35, last pitched on June 19, allowing two hits in 1 1/3 scoreless innings of a 3-2 home win over the Milwaukee Brewers. He is 4-0 with four saves, a 0.56 ERA, six walks and 26 strikeouts in 32 innings over 31 relief appearances this season, his first with Atlanta.
Suarez was an All-Star the previous two seasons with the San Diego Padres before signing a three-year, $45 million contract to join the Braves. For his career, Suarez is 26-13 with 81 saves, a 2.60 ERA, 69 walks and 245 strikeouts in 242 innings over 237 games, all in relief, for the Padres (2022-25) and Braves.
Waldrep, 24, was a combined 0-0 with a 3.52 ERA, 11 walks and 13 strikeouts in 15 1/3 innings for three Braves affiliates at Rookie, Double-A and Triple-A this season. He was 6-1 with a 2.88 ERA, 22 walks and 55 strikeouts in 56 1/3 innings over 10 games (nine starts) for Atlanta in 2025.
