Boutique Collective brings 20 local vendors to Overland Park’s Prairiefire

Overland Park’s Prairiefire shopping district will soon host a new multi‑vendor marketplace. After the rock‑and‑roll themed restaurant Rock & Brews closed its doors this month, entrepreneur Jennifer Reichert announced plans to open the first Johnson County location of Boutique Collective in the vacant space.

Local makers under one roof

The new store, called The Vine, will feature roughly 20 local vendors selling a range of products, from apparel and accessories to home décor and edible treats. Each Boutique Collective location carries a botanical‑themed name; The Vine will replace the former restaurant’s décor with fresh paint, floral accents and plenty of natural light from the existing windows.

Reichert said the transition from restaurant to boutique is a first for her, but she expects the open‑concept layout to serve shoppers well. “We’ll keep the open concept. It’s got lots of windows, which is really nice,” she explained.

Café corner and event space

While the space will no longer operate as a full‑service bar, a small café area will offer champagne, wine, beer and charcuterie boards. A back‑patio event space is also planned for pop‑up events, workshops and community gatherings.

“We won’t have the full bar by any means, but we will still have that, along with some charcuterie boards,” Reichert said. “We’ll have the event space on the back patio, where we’ll host lots of different events and pop‑ups.”

Expanding a successful concept

The Overland Park shop will be Boutique Collective’s third storefront overall. The brand launched its flagship location earlier this year in Kansas City’s Zona Rosa shopping district, followed by a second Zona Rosa space named The Willow. Both locations were created in response to demand from local makers who needed affordable, low‑overhead retail space.

Reichert noted that the Prairiefire site was chosen because it offers a “shopping experience” where visitors can dine, shop and visit the nearby museum in one trip. She expects many of the Kansas City vendors to join the new Overland Park market, adding variety for a different clientele.

Supporting local entrepreneurship

By gathering multiple independent sellers in a single venue, Boutique Collective aims to reduce individual overhead costs and provide a steady flow of foot traffic. “I loved the idea of a lot of local owners being in one place, and they don’t have to worry about overhead or being there on a day‑to‑day basis,” Reichert said.

The opening is slated for as early as a month from the announcement, pending final preparations and permits. The venture adds another retail option to Prairiefire’s growing mix of dining, entertainment and cultural attractions, reinforcing Overland Park’s reputation as a family‑friendly destination.
