A new wildfire, known as the Boulder Creek Fire, has started about a mile west of Jack Pine Summer Homes in Granite Creek, part of the Bridger-Teton National Forest’s Jackson Ranger District.
According to the Bridger-Teton National Forest, the fire was sparked by lightning on Sunday and was estimated to be 0.1 to 0.25 acres in size as of Monday morning.
Firefighters, including Teton Helitack personnel with a type 3 helicopter, are responding to the fire with a direct extinguishment strategy. Fire managers expect to gain containment of the fire by this evening.

In areas where fires are permitted, it’s essential to follow safety tips to keep fires under control. These include never leaving a campfire unattended, having a shovel and water bucket on hand, and using several gallons of water to fully extinguish the campfire.
