Bossier City, Louisiana, is taking steps to preserve a piece of local history for future generations. Keep Bossier Beautiful, in partnership with the Bossier Parish Police Jury Keep America Beautiful program and Visit Shreveport-Bossier, will seal a community time capsule that captures life in Bossier Parish in 2026.
Community Involvement
The project invited residents of all ages to contribute letters, photographs, artwork, recipes, essays, and other memorabilia that reflect everyday life, community pride, and hopes for the future. The capsule will remain sealed for 50 years before being reopened in 2076 during celebrations marking the nation’s 300th anniversary.
Keep Bossier Beautiful Executive Director Lynn Bryan said the project offers residents a unique opportunity to document a historic moment in the community’s history. “We have a unique opportunity to tell future generations what life was like in Bossier Parish during this historic moment,” Bryan said. “Every letter, photograph, and memory submitted will help create a lasting record of our community in 2026.”
