BILL Holdings reports Q4 loss but beats earnings expectations

San Jose, Calif. – BILL Holdings, Inc., the payment‑processing software firm headquartered in San Jose, released its fiscal fourth‑quarter results on Wednesday. The company recorded a net loss of $18.5 million, or 19 cents per share, for the quarter ending September.

Adjusted earnings exceed forecasts

When one‑time gains and costs are excluded, BILL reported adjusted earnings of 84 cents per share. That figure surpassed the consensus estimate of 69 cents per share compiled by six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research.

Revenue beats expectations

Revenue for the quarter came in at $436.2 million, also beating the Street’s forecast of $429.7 million. The stronger top‑line performance helped the company offset the headline loss.

Full‑year outlook and guidance

For the twelve‑month period, BILL posted a loss of $11.2 million, or 11 cents per share, on total revenue of $1.65 billion. Looking ahead, the company projects adjusted earnings for the upcoming quarter to fall between 96 cents and $1 per share, with revenue expected in the $432.5 million to $442.5 million range.

For the full fiscal year, BILL anticipates earnings of $3.56 to $3.79 per share and revenue between $1.81 billion and $1.86 billion.

Share performance

Since the start of the year, BILL’s shares have declined 13 percent. However, in the final minutes of Wednesday’s trading session, the stock closed at $47.71, reflecting a 15 percent increase over the past twelve months.
