For food containers, testers conducted a freshness experiment by storing popcorn in different containers for two weeks. The IKEA container, priced at $6, scored the highest in this test. Consumer Reports did not test plastic containers, as they do not recommend using them for heating food due to the risk of chemicals leaching into the food.
