A cyclist remained in stable but critical condition Friday after a crash near South Walton Boulevard and Southwest Eighth Street in Bentonville.

According to the Bentonville Police Department, the collision occurred in the outside northbound lane of South Walton Boulevard when a cyclist entered the roadway and collided with a truck and trailer traveling northbound.

A preliminary investigation found the cyclist was traveling on a sidewalk north of the Southwest Eighth Street intersection when the rider lost control of the bicycle and entered the roadway, where the collision occurred, according to police.

The cyclist was transported for medical treatment and is listed in stable but critical condition, police said.
