Ben Affleck was overcome with glee when he won $1 million for charity on the game show ‘Who Wants To Be a Millionaire’. Affleck and his partner, ‘Jeopardy!’ champion Jamie Ding, made it to the final round and correctly answered a question about turkeys pardoned by U.S. presidents.
The two men were playing for the Eastern Congo Initiative, a nonprofit co-founded by Affleck in 2010 to support Congolese communities. Affleck spoke on the game show about how he has spent the last 15 years working with the organization, particularly in light of the current Ebola crisis in the region.
Affleck’s win was aired a year after his friend, Matt Damon, appeared on the show and won $1 million for his own charity, Water.org. The episode also aired a week after news broke that Affleck’s mother had passed away following a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.
