A liquor store in Bellflower, California, was looted during a street takeover on Saturday morning, resulting in thousands of dollars in damages, according to the owners.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Bellflower and Somerset boulevards at around 3:30 a.m. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported that 100 to 150 cars blocked the intersection, allowing cars to perform donuts in the street. During the takeover, dozens of people smashed through the store’s windows, trashing the counter and aisles and looting the business.
Store owner Steven Abdullatif described the scene as ‘crazy,’ stating that he had never seen anything like it before. His partner, Nathan Abdullatif, expressed sadness and frustration, noting that they had worked hard to establish the business over 11 years.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has shared images of individuals involved in similar incidents in the past, and the owners of the looted store are calling for investigators to take action to prevent such events from happening to others.
