Belgian Diamond Group Gifts Trump Ring

A Belgian diamond group has gifted President Donald Trump a ring featuring 321 diamonds, 56 sapphires, 13 emeralds, and six rubies. The ring was presented to U.S. Ambassador to Belgium Bill White to give to Trump.

Background

The gift comes after the Belgian diamond industry won the removal of U.S. tariffs on diamond imports. The Antwerp World Diamond Center (AWDC) said it had provided input to the European Commission as it negotiated with Trump on a broad deal on tariffs in 2025.

The ring, valued between $25,000 and $35,000, features a diamond-winged eagle and the phrase ‘250 YEARS USA’ etched in 18-karat gold. Trump has been criticized by ethics experts for accepting such gifts, which they say breaks with decades-old custom in the White House.
