Oldham County families will soon be able to get specialized neonatal care without having to leave the county. Baptist Health La Grange announced it’s building a four-bed level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit worth $5 million.
Supporting Local Families
The project is supported by a $1 million gift from Kosair for Kids. In recognition of that donation, the unit will be named the Kosair for Kids NICU. The NICU unit will allow Baptist Health to keep families in Oldham County when a child is in need, according to Baptist Health La Grange President Clint Kaho.
“When a baby needs a little extra help getting started, this NICU means the family gets to stay right here, together. They get the specialized care their baby needs and the comfort of staying close to home,” Kaho said.
Design and construction planning are underway for the NICU unit. Construction is expected to begin later this year, according to officials. The NICU unit is expected to be open in early 2028.
