Families in Baltimore have a new reason to explore the city’s rich cultural landscape with the launch of Discovery Quest, a program initiated by Port Discovery Children’s Museum. This initiative aims to encourage children and their families to visit and engage with Baltimore’s diverse museums and cultural sites.
Kickoff Event at Port Discovery
The Discovery Quest program will kick off with a special event at Port Discovery Children’s Museum on Friday, June 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. During this event, admission to the museum will be reduced to just $5, offering an affordable opportunity for families to participate. Attendees will receive a free Discovery Quest booklet, which serves as a guide to the program and a passport for collecting stamps at participating museums.
Carter Arnot Polakoff, president and CEO of Port Discovery, expressed excitement about the program, stating, “We’re thrilled to launch Discovery Quest for families across our city! This is your invitation to get out, explore, and follow your curiosity through Baltimore’s incredible museums.”
Participating Museums and Attractions
The program includes 14 participating institutions, such as the American Visionary Art Museum, the B&O Railroad Museum, the Baltimore Museum of Industry, and the National Aquarium, among others. Each visit to these locations allows families to collect stamps in their Discovery Quest booklet, which can be redeemed for collectible charms and a special prize upon completion.
While participation in the program is free, admission fees to individual museums may apply, depending on their standard policies. The program runs through December 31, 2026, giving families ample time to explore and enjoy the cultural offerings of Baltimore.
