Arkansas Democratic Senate candidate Hallie Shoffner reported that a man with a hunting knife came to her family’s home in Little Rock last Friday. Shoffner stated that her son initially went to answer the door, thinking it was one of his friends. However, her husband intervened and opened the door to find the man, who asked for Shoffner’s campaign manager by name, claiming she had asked him to meet at their home.
Shoffner’s husband told the man he had the wrong house, and the individual left. The family has since filed a police report. Shoffner is challenging incumbent Republican Sen. Tom Cotton in the upcoming election. Libertarian candidate Jeff Wadlin is also running.
