The 2026-27 college football season is approaching, and the Big 12 Conference is holding its annual Media Days on July 7-8 in Frisco, Texas. Arizona is sending seven players to the event, including redshirt senior cornerback Jay’Vion Cole.
Jay’Vion Cole’s Profile
Cole had a notable 2025 season with 23 tackles, three tackles for loss, eight pass deflections, one forced fumble, four interceptions, and a pick-six. He was named to the third team All-Big 12 team and earned a Big 12 defensive newcomer of the year honorable mention.
Corners coach Chip Viney praised Cole, saying, ‘He’s a young man that’s mature. He’s taken full control of that room. He’s leading these guys into this season.’ Coach Danny Gonzales also complimented Cole, stating, ‘Cole is the best corner in the Big 12, and I would put him against anybody.’
Cole’s teammates, including redshirt junior Johno Price, admire his leadership and work ethic. Price said, ‘He knows how to attack the work and does everything right. He’s a great listener, even better teammate, and it’s like a guy to always count on.’
Cole, alongside Taye Brown, earned second team All-Big 12 preseason honors. With his experience and leadership, he is expected to take on more responsibility this season.
