Becky Young, a housewife and mother from North Carolina, received a calling of faith to help the impoverished village of Mabopane, Africa. After visiting the village, she decided to take action and raise money to support the people of Mabopane.
Twenty-five years ago, Becky started by holding a yard sale, which quickly grew into a monthly event with over 100 volunteers. The yard sale items are donated and of high quality, allowing the foundation Becky created to send thousands of dollars each month to South Africa.
The next yard sale is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, July 24 and 25. Shoppers can find fantastic bargains, but more importantly, they will be supporting a greater cause. Becky and others have traveled to Mabopane many times, building homes and even a school for the villagers.
