The Ankeny Community School District in Iowa has agreed to pay $150,000 to settle a lawsuit involving three teachers who were suspended after attending a drag show organized by the Gender Sexuality Alliance student club in 2022.
Settlement Details
As part of the settlement, each of the three teachers will receive over $27,000, with nearly $67,000 allocated for their attorneys. The district denies any wrongdoing or liability under the terms of the agreement.
The district had also filed ethics complaints against the teachers with the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners, but the board later dismissed the case.
