American Airlines flights have resumed after a brief nationwide ground stop was issued due to an IT outage, the airline said. The ground stop, which lasted less than an hour, was put in place while teams worked to resolve the issue.
The airline apologized to customers for the inconvenience. The cause of the outage was not immediately clear.
The ground stop came during an unusually strong storm that is moving through the Northeast, which has already led to the cancellation of over 2,500 flights across the US.
