AMC Theatres Expands ‘Silver Screen’ Series to Showcase Classic Films Nationwide

AMC Theatres is offering a nostalgic trip down memory lane for movie enthusiasts by launching its ‘Silver Screen’ series. This initiative allows audiences to experience classic films from Hollywood’s Golden Age on the big screen, a rare opportunity in today’s cinema landscape. The series is set to run through October at 25 select AMC locations across the United States, providing an accessible and affordable entertainment option for seniors and cinephiles alike.

Program Details and Showtimes

The ‘Silver Screen’ series will feature six iconic films: ‘An American in Paris,’ ‘Singin’ In The Rain,’ ‘A Star is Born,’ ‘East of Eden,’ ‘Cat On A Hot Tin Roof,’ and ‘North By Northwest.’ These films will be shown at 1 p.m. local time, a convenient slot for daytime viewing. Ryan Wood, senior vice president and head film buyer of AMC Theatres, emphasized the unique energy and connection that comes with viewing these timeless movies in a theater setting. He noted that the series aims to make this experience more accessible for seniors by offering convenient showtimes and affordable pricing.

Expansion Following Successful Pilot

The decision to expand the ‘Silver Screen’ series follows the success of a pilot program launched last year at AMC Fitchburg 18 in Wisconsin. The pilot was well-received by local audiences, prompting AMC to extend the program to a broader audience. Tickets for the ‘Silver Screen’ movies are now available for purchase at the participating AMC locations, as well as online and through the AMC mobile app.

This initiative not only celebrates the rich history of cinema but also aligns with AMC’s commitment to providing diverse entertainment options for its patrons. By bringing these classic films back to theaters, AMC offers a unique cultural experience that appeals to both older generations who may have seen these films during their original releases and younger audiences discovering them for the first time.
