A Jeffersonville commuter got a surprise Sunday morning when they spotted an alligator wandering through town. The driver called police, who responded to the scene and safely secured the alligator without incident.
No officers or the alligator were injured during the incident. Officials did not say how the alligator ended up roaming through town or whether it escaped from a private residence.
The animal was eventually transferred to The Kentuckiana Scaletuary, a sanctuary equipped to care for reptiles and other exotic animals.
