It has been a banner week for Allen’s student athletes, with the Eagles making waves both on the volleyball court and in the competitive gaming arena.
Allen’s girls volleyball program has earned a coveted spot in the MaxPreps preseason top 10 national poll, according to Star Local Media’s Allen American. Landing in the top 10 before the season even tips off is a testament to the program’s consistent excellence and the hard work players and coaches have put in during the offseason. Allen joins fellow North Texas school Prestonwood in cracking that elite preseason ranking, giving the region plenty to cheer about as the 2026–27 school year gets under way.
The excitement doesn’t stop on the hardwood. Allen also recently hosted a league championship esports showcase, Star Local Media reports. Competitive gaming has grown into a serious varsity pursuit at Allen, and the showcase gave student competitors a stage to demonstrate the teamwork, strategy, and quick thinking that define high-level esports play. Hosting a league championship event underscores Allen’s standing as a hub for both traditional and emerging athletic programs.
Together, these two stories paint a vivid picture of a school community that supports its young people across a wide range of competitive pursuits — from the gym floor to the gaming monitor. As the new school year begins, Eagles fans have plenty of reasons to look forward to what Allen’s student athletes will accomplish in the months ahead.
