Aldi plans to open two stores in Denver, according to documents filed with the city. One location is planned in far northeast Denver, near the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood at Tower Road and East 57th Avenue.
The grocer plans a 20,000-square-foot building with 90 parking spots, not far from the hotels and other developments along Tower Road. A large development with a Target store is also in progress nearby.
Second Location in Central Park Neighborhood
The other proposed location is 9111 E. 40th Ave. in Denver’s Central Park neighborhood. Plans show a similarly sized building with over 100 parking spots. The location is part of a retail center that is already home to Wendy’s and a QuikTrip convenience store. It’s near a planned new Whole Foods grocery.
Aldi, originally from Germany, is known for offering low-cost groceries at thousands of locations in nearly 40 states. The company plans to open more than 50 stores in Denver and Colorado Springs within the next five years.
