Residents of Palisades RV Park in northwest Albuquerque are facing eviction after the owner issued 30-day notices citing renovations, while city officials point to numerous code violations at the property.
Code Violations and Eviction Notices
The city of Albuquerque confirmed that code enforcement recently inspected the property and found more than 10 violations, including operating without a certificate of occupancy or valid business license, unpermitted installation of walls and fences, and needed perimeter wall maintenance.
Many residents, including senior citizens and people with disabilities, are now struggling to figure out their next steps before the 30-day deadline. "For people like us who walk with a cane and stuff, we're disabled. We can't pick up and go in 30 days," one resident said.
The property owner did not respond to requests for an interview. A hearing to address the violations is set for Aug. 6.
