Albuquerque has activated four new speed cameras on major roadways to reduce speeding-related crashes. The cameras are located on Fourth Street near Griegos Road, Central Avenue near 61st Street in both directions, and Unser Boulevard near Gwin Road.
City leaders said the cameras are placed in areas with a history of crashes and speeding complaints. The automated system issues citations to drivers exceeding posted speed limits and operates around the clock.
Supporters said the technology serves as an extra tool for traffic enforcement while encouraging motorists to slow down on some of the city’s busiest corridors.
