Ahoy, an AI startup, celebrated the rollout of its agentic meeting scheduler and business agent with a launch party at the Pink Painted Lady in San Francisco. The event was free and open to the public, offering a rare chance to see inside the historic landmark.
Pirate-Themed Party
The party featured a pirate-themed decor, with buccaneer mannequins, a skeleton in a brig, and other seafaring frills. Dozens of people attended the event, which was organized by Ahoy’s co-founders Monique Eisenach and Kevin Bluett.
Jana Iris, a key investor in Ahoy, said the company wanted to do something for the community instead of spending $60,000 on a launch video. The event was a way to differentiate themselves as a community-oriented startup.
Preserving History
The party also highlighted the importance of preserving historic buildings. Woody LaBounty, president and CEO of SF Heritage, said that historic buildings that survive are those that get used and are active. The event succeeded in getting more people inside to appreciate the Pink Painted Lady.
Leah Culver, the owner of the Pink Painted Lady, said she is exploring opportunities for public access to the house. The event was a step in that direction, and Ahoy’s co-founders hope to continue to create events that foster appreciation for the city’s art, music, and culture.
