A.B. Quintanilla sues sister Suzette over Selena estate profits in Nueces County

In a lawsuit filed this week in Nueces County, Texas, Abraham “A.B.” Quintanilla III is suing his sister, Suzette Quintanilla Arriaga, and the two entities she runs—Q Production, Inc. and Q Productions, Inc.—for over $1 million in alleged unpaid profits from the late Tejano star Selena Quintanilla’s estate.

Background and claims

The suit states that both A.B. and Suzette reside in Nueces County. Q Production, Inc. was created by Selena’s father shortly after her death in 1995, while Suzette formed Q Productions, Inc. in 2025 to continue managing Selena’s name, image, voice, likeness, commercial ventures, legacy and other intellectual property.

According to the filing, A.B. is entitled to 25 % of the profits generated by the companies under an “Estate Properties Agreement” signed months after Selena’s death. He says he discovered in spring 2025 that he had not received his full share and requested detailed financial records from Suzette and the companies. The lawsuit alleges that those records were never provided and that he has been denied the earnings he is owed.

Relief sought

A.B. is seeking more than $1 million in unpaid profits and proceeds, an accounting of the estate’s finances from 2016 to the present, as well as attorney’s fees and court costs.

Family response

On Selena’s official Facebook page, Suzette and their mother, Marcella Quintanilla, issued a joint statement on Sept. 2, days before the filing, calling A.B.’s accusations false. The statement asserts that Suzette has not stolen or misappropriated any money or property belonging to the family or Selena’s estate.

They also challenged A.B.’s insinuations about their father, Abraham, urging him to specify any alleged wrongdoing rather than leaving the public to speculate about a man who is no longer alive.

Next steps

The case will proceed through the Nueces County court system, where both parties will have the opportunity to present evidence and testimony regarding the estate’s financial management.

ABC13 has reached out to Q Productions for an updated comment.
