The Dale Rogers Training Center, a local nonprofit in Oklahoma City, will host its first-ever community resource fair on Friday, June 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. at its main campus. The event aims to connect people with disabilities to employment opportunities and community resources.
Connecting the Community
The resource fair will feature various organizations, including United Way of Central Oklahoma, IDD Safe, and the Oklahoma City Zoo, among others. These organizations will provide information on employment opportunities, health and wellness services, and volunteer opportunities.
Deborah Copeland, executive director and CEO of DRTC, emphasized the importance of connecting people with disabilities to community resources. “People living with disabilities and their family members don’t always realize the community resources that are out there,” she said.
Empowering People with Disabilities
The Dale Rogers Training Center is dedicated to creating pathways to workplaces and communities for people with disabilities to achieve their employment goals. With multiple locations across Oklahoma, the organization trains, serves, or employs approximately 1,100 individuals with disabilities each year.
The resource fair is free and open to the public, and attendees can expect to learn about various resources and services available to support people with disabilities.
