The United States is celebrating its 250th birthday with the Sail4th 250 parade, which will feature ships and aircraft from 46 nations. The event will take place on July 4 and will be broadcast on NBC.
Parade Details
The parade will include the International Parade of Sail in the Port of New York and New Jersey, with 48 tall ships from 20 foreign nations traveling 16 miles from near Sandy Hook, New Jersey, up to the George Washington Bridge, saluting the Statue of Liberty along the way.
The event will also feature an International Aerial Review, where the Navy’s Blue Angels will lead over 100 American and international aircraft flying overhead. Additionally, there will be an International Naval Review, with over 50 US and allied naval vessels anchored along the Hudson River.
NBC will utilize dozens of cameras to capture the grand spectacle, including cameras positioned along both sides of the Hudson River, at iconic New York landmarks, and on several ships. Aerial footage will also be provided via drones, the NBC New York helicopter, and a blimp.
The broadcast will begin at 7 a.m. ET/6 a.m. CT/4 a.m. PT and will be led by “TODAY” co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin.
