President Donald Trump recently compared himself to some of history’s most powerful leaders, including Mao, Stalin, and Attila the Hun, in an interview with New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan for their new book, ‘Regime Change’.
Trump’s Comments
According to the book, Trump showed the reporters a document arguing that he was more powerful than these historical leaders, stating that they ‘maintained power through fear’ and that his own power as US president was not limited to a local area.
Trump also discussed his decision to go to war with Iran alongside Israel, as well as his skepticism toward Ukraine and its leader, Volodymyr Zelensky.
Book Details
The book, which was obtained by CNN ahead of its release, provides a behind-the-scenes look at the first 14 months of Trump’s second term, including his relationships with world leaders and members of his own administration.
The authors, Haberman and Swan, conducted over 1,000 interviews for the book, including multiple conversations with Trump himself.
