US Stadiums Rebrand for World Cup

Major US stadiums have had a makeover after FIFA sponsor rules required stadiums to remove commercial branding. This comes after FIFA covered the apparel company’s logo on Levi’s Stadium and changed its name to San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.

Stadium Name Changes

FIFA requires all World Cup venues to remove commercial branding to protect the branding rights of its sponsors. The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held across 16 stadiums in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Eleven of these stadiums are in the United States.

Some notable stadium name changes include Mercedes-Benz Stadium to Atlanta Stadium, Gillette Stadium to Boston Stadium, AT&T Stadium to Dallas Stadium, NRG Stadium to Houston Stadium, GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium to Kansas City Stadium, SoFi Stadium to Los Angeles Stadium, Hard Rock Stadium to Miami Stadium, MetLife Stadium to New York/New Jersey stadium, Lincoln Financial Field to Philadelphia Stadium, and Lumen Field to Seattle Stadium.
