The company’s existing operational footprint will be used as a community donation hub for essential goods coming off Omaha homes and businesses across the metro. The monthly donation drive includes customer-flagged donations, a community drop-off location, and scheduled monthly deliveries to the pantry.
The Omaha Veterans Food Pantry has become one of the most reliable community lifelines for veterans facing food insecurity. The pantry runs on donations and volunteer hours, and demand has been increasing. RMS Dumpsters & Services LLC’s partnership with the pantry will help increase support for local veterans.
A spokesperson for RMS Dumpsters & Services LLC said, ‘We kept noticing how much usable stuff ends up in the dumpster during cleanouts, and how often customers told us they wished there was a better way to handle items they couldn’t keep but felt bad about trashing.’ The company’s experience with a widow who wanted to donate her late husband’s belongings to the pantry helped inspire the monthly donation drive.
