The Louisville Kings had an unusual road to glory in their first season, going from an 0-3 start to being crowned United Bowl champions. Head coach Chris Redman reflected on the special inaugural season for the team, speaking about how special it was to win a championship coaching his hometown team.
Redman on the Season
Redman touched on the team’s early struggles and their perseverance throughout the year. “Two of the games we easily could have won,” he said. “We just had to change the chemistry a little bit and get everything moving in the right direction and we did. Guys, they never stopped believing no matter what.” The sweetest part of the championship was bringing a trophy back to his hometown.
Redman expressed his gratitude to the players, coaches, and fans who supported the team throughout the season. He also mentioned that several players, including Tanner Brown, are likely to get opportunities to play in the NFL. Redman himself is happy to stay in Louisville, saying, “I’m real happy to do this and bring a trophy back to Louisville, and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do.”
