West Palm Beach Woman Impersonates Officer in Parking Scam

A West Palm Beach woman is accused of impersonating a parking enforcement officer and running a parking scam operation targeting drivers on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, police said. Dressed in all-black clothing, equipped with a fake badge, and carrying a counterfeit handheld payment terminal, Ti’Miyah Allen was allegedly running the operation, Palm Beach police said.

According to investigators, Allen approached drivers attempting to pay for parking through the ParkMobile app and offered them a highly discounted ‘all-day parking rate.’ When victims handed over their credit cards, police said she ran them through her handheld device to steal their information.

Targeting Elderly Individuals

Officials believe Allen targeted elderly individuals following two incidents in early June. In one case, a victim discovered $2,500 had been charged to his card after paying Allen for parking. In another incident, a victim grew suspicious, asked to see Allen’s credentials, and refused to give her money.

Using surveillance cameras, license plate readers, and witness accounts, officials arrested Allen on several charges, accusing her of impersonating an officer and running an organized fraud scheme.
