A committee working to get voters to the polls in Oklahoma is ramping up its ‘get out and go vote’ message one day before the primary election. The Clara Luper Legacy Committee has been calling registered voters in Oklahoma County from a phone bank at Fairview Baptist Church.
Committee’s Goal
The goal is to reach as many people as they can to make sure they have their voices heard in Tuesday’s election. ‘I don’t care who you vote for, but I want you to vote. I want your voice to be heard,’ said Marilyn Luper-Hildreth, a civil rights activist and Clara Luper’s daughter.
The committee will be at the church until 7 p.m. Monday and then again from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday. They are committed to making sure registered voters get out to do their civic duty.
