Soonercon, the Oklahoma City metro’s longest-running pop culture convention, is back next weekend, bringing celebrity guests and fun for people of all ages to Norman. The convention will feature activities for all ages, including children, with over 500 hours of programming and a nautical theme, Through Salt and Storm.
Celebrity Guests and Panels
Some of the celebrity guests include Phil LaMarr, Alexis Tipton, Erica Mendez, Lauren Landa, Richard Hescox, and Seanan McGuire. The convention will also feature panels, costume contests, video games, and more.
Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes, though they are not required. The convention runs June 19-21 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Norman. Soonercon will also raise money for Not Your Average Joe, a local coffee shop that helps people with special needs gain employment and education.
Families can enjoy the convention together, with kids 12 and under getting in free with an adult ticket. The convention will have a full kids’ programming schedule, including STEAM-focused activities.
For adults, Soonercon will have later activities, including burlesque and panels on adult topics, starting at 7 p.m. each evening.
