Yuki Handroll Bar Brings Fresh Sushi to Austin

Yuki Handroll Bar, a collaboration between Hyo Lim and Chef Jun, has brought a fresh and unique dining experience to Austin. With locations in Westlake and Four Points, the restaurant offers a selection of handrolls made with bluefin tuna, salmon, and yellowtail.

Menu and Experience

The menu features a variety of appetizers, including seaweed salad and edamame, as well as nigiri, sashimi, and sushi rolls. The restaurant receives shipments of fish three or more times per week from Japan, Korea, Mexico, and Spain. The bar-style seating allows customers to watch their meal being prepared, making for a unique and engaging experience.

Owner Hyo Lim recommends that beginner diners start with a cooked handroll, such as the shrimp, crab, or scallop options. He also suggests trying the nigiri, with his personal favorite being a toss-up between the yellowtail and salmon belly.

Expansion and Future Plans

As Lim expands his culinary footprint in Austin, he plans to open another Asian food concept in Northwest Austin, serving authentic Korean flavors. The new restaurant, DUBU, is named after the Korean word for tofu and is slated to open in July. Lim also hopes to expand the Yuki Handroll Bar menu to include a traditional omakase menu in the future.
