A 24-year-old man is recovering after being shot on the 200 block of Court Avenue in Des Moines. The shooting happened just before 1:30 a.m. when Des Moines police and the fire department responded to a report of a personal injury and found the man with a gunshot wound in his lower body.
He was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to be okay. Authorities believe a fight had occurred before the shooting. The suspect fled the scene and has not been arrested.
