Shelbyville Nonprofit Helps Veterans

A Shelbyville nonprofit is working to ensure veterans facing hardship have a safe place to call home. Fire Missions Veteran Services is renovating a downtown Shelbyville property that will become part of its growing housing initiative, known as Operation Redemption.

Supporting Veterans in Need

The project is designed to provide transitional housing and support services for veterans working to rebuild their lives. Construction is underway on the facility, which will eventually include multiple bedrooms capable of housing dozens of veterans.

According to Brady Wright, founder and executive director of Fire Missions Veteran Services, the demand for assistance continues to grow. The organization regularly helps veterans with a wide range of needs, from emergency transportation and housing to addiction recovery and other support services.

To help fund the project and continue expanding services, Fire Missions Veteran Services will host a fundraising concert on June 13 featuring Kentucky country artist JD Shelburne. Organizers say proceeds from the event will support housing efforts and other programs for veterans in need.
