WuXi AppTec, a drug developer, has filed a complaint at a US district court against the Department of Defense for including the company in a list linked to the Chinese military.
Background
The list, released on Monday, includes a broad swathe of China’s top technology firms key to advancing Beijing’s military and industrial prowess, reflecting Washington’s security concerns amid intense geopolitical competition between the countries.
WuXi, in an exchange filing on Thursday, said it was seeking to declare its designation by the Pentagon as a “Chinese military company” as null and remove the firm from the list.
A spokesperson for the Pentagon said the Department does not comment on ongoing or potential litigation.
