The Piney Woods Film Festival is set to take place at Lone Star College-Montgomery, bringing a three-day celebration of film to Montgomery County. The festival will feature a diverse lineup of films, including shorts, trailers, documentaries, feature-length films, and independent projects from experienced and emerging filmmakers.
Festival Highlights
The festival will include multiple showings of various productions, followed by Q&A sessions with the respective filmmakers. Additionally, attendees can enjoy live music and social events, including a special guest panel, VIP mixer, and an awards ceremony on the final day.
According to Piney Woods Film Festival cofounder and director Justin Woods, the festival received 132 submissions from 12 different countries. The organizers narrowed the field down to 64 films, which will be showcased during the festival. High school students were able to submit their projects for free, while college students had to pay a fee.
The festival will also feature live music performances by student musicians from the Sarah Kelly Music School, as well as a traditional art installation presented in partnership with The Woodlands Arts Council. On Friday, attendees can participate in one of two planned mixers featuring The Woodlands Symphony.
Tickets for the festival are available starting at $25, with discounted rates offered to students and senior citizens. The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day, and attendees can purchase tickets and find more information on the Piney Woods Film Festival website.
