Clear Creek Independent School District (CCISD) held a workshop on June 8 to discuss its future goals and briefed board members on the district’s successes and challenges. The district aims to increase grade-level learning among its students, with a focus on using research-based instructional strategies to help students learn at grade level.
Strategic Goals
According to a presentation at the workshop, completed and upcoming strategic goals included setting a district-wide goal to increase performance in sixth-grade math, reading, and language arts at every intermediate campus. The district has successfully achieved this goal, according to district officials.
Beginning in 2028, Texas schools will receive College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) credit only for students who complete a Texas Education Agency-approved college preparatory course. This change may affect some programs the district uses, such as the Texas College Bridge, an online college-readiness program.
The district is exploring alternative ways to meet CCMR requirements, including using the Texas Assessment Initiative-2, ACT, and SAT exams. The district is also working to promote innovation by creating multiple new learning opportunities in science, technology, reading, engineering, arts, and math, including specialized programs at different campuses.
Facility Condition Index
The district plans to establish a facility condition index for each facility by August. In December, the district began implementing Brightly, a maintenance software system to manage costly infrastructure repairs. The software system will create a condition index to predict long-term costs for the district.
