The Pleasant Grove Hawks continue to rack up recognition after their run to the 4A Division I state championship. The Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association released its All-State, All-State Elite and All-Star teams, and Pleasant Grove earned recognition on all three teams.
Player Recognition
Hunter Rose, the state tournament MVP, recorded a massive senior season for the Hawks, finishing unbeaten as a pitcher while hitting over .400 and shutting down a red-hot Calallen offense in the championship game. He earned an All-State Elite selection as an outfielder on the 4A team and was selected as an outfielder on the North All-Star team that includes players from multiple classes.
Spencer Browning and Christian May also earned first-team All-State selections, both from the infield. Browning was one of multiple .400 hitters in the Pleasant Grove lineup, while May hit over .400 this season and came up clutch for the Hawks many times throughout the season.
