Tomball ISD Allocates $975,000 for Phase 3 of 2030 Exceeding Excellence Plan

The Tomball Independent School District (Tomball ISD) board has approved the release of $975,000 to fund Phase 3 of its ambitious 2030 Exceeding Excellence plan. This decision was made during the board’s regular meeting on June 2. The plan is designed to empower students by providing innovative and rigorous educational experiences, while fostering strong partnerships with the community.

Phase 3 Initiatives

The Exceeding Excellence plan has already seen significant progress in its previous phases. Superintendent Schindewolf highlighted several accomplishments, including the expansion of the Grow Your Own program, which aims to develop future educators from within the community. Other achievements include initiatives to track and address behavioral health concerns, comprehensive guidance lessons, and the recognition of community partnerships.

Phase 3 will continue to build on these successes by further expanding the Grow Your Own program through additional partnerships. The district also plans to enhance school counselor professional development and support, integrate innovative technology, and develop curriculum writing and digital citizenship strategies. These efforts aim to prepare students for college and career readiness, with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity and safety education.

Community and Fiscal Responsibility

Schindewolf emphasized the district’s commitment to fiscal responsibility, stating, “We always want to be under budget, that’s the goal. We want to get the work done without exceeding that budget.” The district’s careful management of funds ensures that the Exceeding Excellence plan can continue to provide valuable educational experiences without financial overreach.

The plan’s focus on community involvement is evident in its various initiatives, including community-wide bond updates and the development of mini-lessons on practical life skills. These efforts aim to strengthen the connection between the district and the community it serves, ensuring that students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for their future roles as impactful citizens.
