Pasco County Drivers Brace for Lane Closures and Delays June 7-13

Pasco County, Florida, is set to experience a series of traffic disruptions as the Florida Department of Transportation District 7 announces a busy schedule of lane closures from June 7 through June 13. These closures will impact several major state roads, US highways, and Interstate 75, affecting both daytime and nighttime travel.

Interstate and Highway Closures

For those traveling on the interstate, the Northbound I-75 Exit 285 ramp to State Road 52 will have one of its two lanes closed overnight from Sunday, June 7, through Thursday, June 11. The closures will occur from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night, although turns will remain available in both directions.

Daytime travelers on US 41 and State Road 54 will face significant disruptions. At the intersection of US 41 (Land O’ Lakes Boulevard) and Lake Patience Road, lanes will be closed daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12. Similarly, State Road 54 at Henley Road will experience daytime lane closures during the same hours and dates. Additionally, overnight lane closures are scheduled at Altamont Lane on State Road 54 from Sunday, June 7, through Thursday, June 11, between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.

State Road 52 and Suncoast Parkway

Travelers on State Road 52 will encounter multiple zones of ongoing construction, including continuous bottlenecks. The westbound left lane of State Road 52 from east of the Suncoast Parkway (State Road 589) to west of it is closed around-the-clock until further notice. The eastbound left turn lane onto northbound Suncoast Parkway also faces a continuous, partial closure. On the Suncoast Parkway itself, the southbound exit ramp to State Road 52 will have its right turn lane partially or fully blocked from Monday, June 8, through Saturday, June 13, between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., though drivers can still make turns.

Flagging Operations and Permanent Closures

Several corridors will rely on flagging operations to manage traffic through single lanes. On US 98, periodic lane closures and flagging will occur between County Road 54 and Townsend Road from Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Similar daytime flagging and shoulder work will impact State Road 39 from Chancey Road to Bay Avenue from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday. County Road 54, from west of Flint Drive to US 301 (Gall Boulevard), will also see flagging operations during the day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Nighttime drivers on the US 98 Dade City Bypass will deal with periodic single-lane closures from the 7th Street roundabout area to south of Lock Street. These closures are scheduled from Sunday through Thursday nights, between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. A permanent bottleneck remains on US 301 from Kingsmere Road to Wire Road, where the southbound right lane is shut down around-the-clock until further notice. The Florida Department of Transportation has not provided an expected completion date for these continuous closures, and local motorists are advised to seek alternate routes or budget extra travel time next week.
