In Tacoma, Washington, a stolen SUV was involved in a collision on Interstate 5 near Port of Tacoma Road early Sunday morning. The incident occurred when a white Toyota 4Runner, reported stolen from Cle Elum, rear-ended another vehicle, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash left the stolen SUV disabled on the right shoulder of the highway near milepost 136. The occupants of the SUV fled the scene on foot before law enforcement arrived. Trooper Kameron Watts reported that by the time authorities reached the vehicle, the suspects had already escaped.
Efforts to locate the individuals involved included establishing a perimeter and conducting a search of the surrounding area. However, no suspects were immediately found. The number of individuals inside the SUV at the time of the crash remains unknown.
Investigation Underway
Authorities are now processing the vehicle for fingerprints and DNA evidence in hopes of identifying the suspects. Blood was discovered inside the SUV, which investigators believe may be linked to the collision. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the occupants of the vehicle that was struck.
The crash resulted in the blockage of the right lane of southbound I-5 and led to the temporary closure of the southbound entrance ramp from Port of Tacoma Road, as reported by the Washington State Department of Transportation.
