Brian Hooker, 58, has been observed living a seemingly ordinary life in Citrus Heights, a suburb about 15 miles northeast of Sacramento, despite his wife Lynette Hooker’s disappearance during a sailboat vacation in the Bahamas in April.
Local sightings
Neighbors reported seeing Hooker walking two small dogs, stopping for coffee in his garage, and even sifting through trash left on the side of a residential street. He was captured on camera wearing a brown hat, khaki shorts, and a graphic tee that read “Hellfire Club” from the show “Stranger Things.”
Hooker also exited a local store displaying a Marine Corps tattoo, suggesting he may be staying with a family member in the area.
Investigation status
The U.S. Coast Guard Investigative Service leads the investigation into Lynette’s disappearance. According to Hooker’s statements, Lynette fell from a dinghy while the couple were returning to their sailboat, “Soulmate,” on the night of the incident.
He was detained and questioned by Bahamian authorities in April but was released without charges. No criminal accusations have been made against him.
Family’s call for answers
Lynette’s mother, Darlene Hamlett, told Fox News Digital, “I just want the truth to be told and justice for my daughter Lynette.” The family continues to await any new information that could clarify the circumstances of her disappearance.
