Free Summer Concerts Return to Pikesville Armory with Diverse Music Lineup

The Pikesville Armory Foundation is once again bringing music to the community with its third annual Summer Music Series. This year, the series promises a diverse lineup that includes old time, bluegrass, American roots music, jazz, and funky alternative rock.

Concert Lineup

The series kicks off on Wednesday, May 27, with a performance by the father-son duo Ken & Brad Kolodner. Known for their unique blend of hammered dulcimer and clawhammer banjo, they will offer a soundscape that blurs the lines between old time, bluegrass, and American roots music.

On June 10, Corinthia Cromwell will bring her talent and passion to the stage with a mix of gospel, jazz, and R&B. Her performance is expected to be a highlight for those who appreciate soulful and inspiring music.

Rounding out the series on July 10 is Uncle Kunkel’s One Gram Band, a Baltimore-based group known for their energetic and unpredictable performances. Their funky alternative rock style is sure to engage and entertain the audience.

Community Engagement

David Ginsburg, executive director of the Pikesville Armory Foundation, emphasized the importance of these events in fostering community spirit. He stated, “While we are building an inclusive third space during this major redevelopment, we continue to offer fun and free community events for everyone to get excited about the vibrant and bright future ahead.”

The concerts are free to attend, thanks to the support of the Pikesville Armory Foundation and its sponsors. However, attendees are encouraged to RSVP to assist with logistics and planning, especially in case of weather-related updates.

The Pikesville Armory is located at 640 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, Maryland. Community members are invited to enjoy these free events and celebrate the rich musical heritage and vibrant future of the area.
