Marlins Sweep Mets with Historic Walk-Off Grand Slam

In an exciting conclusion to their series, the Miami Marlins swept the New York Mets with a dramatic walk-off grand slam by Heriberto Hernandez. The Marlins’ 4-0 victory on Sunday afternoon was sealed when Hernandez hit an 0-1 changeup from Mets pitcher Devin Williams over the right-center field wall. This marked the first walk-off grand slam to break a 0-0 tie in a major league game since 2013.

The Mets, who have struggled recently, were limited to just two runs on 11 hits throughout the series. This loss adds to their recent woes, having been outscored 28-14 in their last six games. The Marlins, on the other hand, celebrated their first series sweep since the season opener against Colorado.

In the ninth inning, Pete Fairbanks of the Marlins allowed one hit and one walk but was aided by catcher Liam Hicks, who successfully threw out a base-stealer. The Mets failed to capitalize on scoring opportunities, finishing 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and leaving 10 runners stranded.
