Sen. Jon Ossoff draws criticism from White House officials after remarks about Trump aide Natalie Harp

Sen. Jon Ossoff, the Democratic candidate for Georgia’s U.S. Senate seat, sparked a wave of criticism after a campaign rally in Atlanta where he referenced Trump aide Natalie Harp by her first name and implied a personal relationship with the president.

White House response

White House spokesperson Davis Ingle told Fox News Digital that Harp is “one of the most loyal and hardest working aides on President Trump’s team” and dismissed Ossoff’s comments as “cringeworthy, feminine theatre kid cosplaying as Barack Obama” and called the senator a “lightweight loser”.

Communications specialist Mercedes Schlapp added that the remarks were sexist, noting, “I don’t think any woman would want to travel with Ossoff. Natalie is smart, professional and successful. Ossoff has made a sexist remark.” White House communication director Steven Cheung called Ossoff “the biggest cuck loser in politics” and urged him to reflect on his motivations.

Conservative commentary

Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna labeled Ossoff’s comments as both sexist and misogynistic, urging him to consider the impact of his words on women in public service. EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin praised Harp as “incredibly hardworking, talented, principled, and loyal” and highlighted her contributions to the administration.

Rep. Brandon Gill and commentator Robby Starbuck both referenced Harp’s survival of bone cancer, crediting the Trump administration’s Right to Try Act for allowing her access to experimental treatment. Starbuck wrote, “Natalie Harp survived bone cancer because President Trump green‑lit the right‑to‑try experimental treatment when she was terminal. I met her back then. She went to work for him after recovery.” Both called for an apology from Ossoff, describing his insinuation as vile.

Ossoff’s clarification

On “The Briefing with Jen Psaki,” Ossoff defended his remarks, saying the president “retreats into this bubble of West Wing aides who are his security blanket” and that similar dynamics exist with other senior aides. He suggested that these aides tell the president what he wants to hear rather than what he needs to hear.

Fox News Digital reached out to both Harp and Ossoff for comment; no response was received at the time of publication.

Background on Natalie Harp

Harp rose to prominence after crediting the Trump administration’s Right to Try Act for helping her access experimental cancer treatment in 2019. She later joined the 2020 Trump campaign and was appointed Special Assistant to the President. Within the White House, she is known for providing the president with printed copies of news articles, emails, and social‑media posts, earning the nickname “human printer” among staff.
