US Rep. Russell Fry has endorsed Sen. Darline Graham in South Carolina’s Republican Senate primary runoff. Fry finished third in the special primary and his backing follows that of other powerful Republicans, including Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina and President Donald Trump.
Runoff Election
The special primary was held after the sudden death of Sen. Lindsey Graham, Darline Graham’s brother. Darline Graham was appointed to serve out the remainder of his term and is now running for the seat. The runoff election is scheduled for August 25.
Fry said in a news release that President Trump needs fighters and allies in the Senate who will show up every day and get results. He believes Darline Graham will be exactly that. Fry also noted that Graham understands everyday people’s struggles, having had a hardscrabble upbringing and being adopted by her older brother after their parents died when she was young.
