A large power outage affected much of New Smyrna Beach on Saturday evening, with police warning drivers to use extra caution and to treat all intersections as four-way stops until utilities crews could remedy the situation.
The New Smyrna Beach Police Department said around 8:44 p.m. on social media that the power outage was affecting the eastern portion of the mainland and all of the beachside.
According to the New Smyrna Beach Utilities website, roughly 8,400 outages were being reported at the time of this writing.
